Marrakech to Erg Chegaga Desert – Morocco Adventure Tour. Camel Trekking in the, sahara tours 4×4 Safari & Camping.
We will leave Marrakech early in the morning and drive through the winding road of the gorges High Atlas Mountains.
We will have our first coffee stop about 80 km outside of Marrakech, and the next will be a quick stop for pictures in Tizi N’ Tichka, the highest point of the trip with its 2260 m of altitude.
We carry on towards Telouet Kasbah, a castle that once belonged to one of the Lords of The Atlas, and has played a major role in controlling the whole southeast of Moroccan Berber tribes and lands ….
Our next stop will be the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, an ancient castle made of mud and surrounded by a defensive wall and towers, a perfect example of the traditional Moroccan house in the south.
The Kasbah was recorded as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987 and has attracted people from all over the world ever since, especially fans of cinema.
As It has made an appearance on several big movies and TV shows, such as Gladiator, The Mummy, Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia and many others…
From there we take a short drive to Ouarzazate, also known as Hollywood of Africa, and visit one of its amazing studios of cinema, and take pictures of its famous Kasbah Taourirt.
We continue through Agdez and Zagora, take a Lunch break before we finally reach Chegaga Desert. We hop on a camelback and take a lovely ride to our camp and spend the night in a berber tent under the starry sky of the sahara tours.
We start the day with a beautiful sunrise show from the wild Chegaga desert dunes, and after a sweet breakfast, we get another camel ride back the minibus and start hitting the road, the way around to Marrakech!
Soon after we leave the Chegaga desert, we will stop to visit the old library of Tamegroute – the Oldest Library tour in Morocco.
– And while here, we seize the chance to get a closer. Look at the artisans of Tamgrout and discover. How they make the traditional ceramic work.
In their old fashion style. And techniques that go back to centuries ago. We next stop in Zagora for a cup of tea/coffee, stretch our legs a bit. And carry on to visit the old Kasbah of Caid in Agdez.
After a lunch break in Ouarzazat, we take a soft visit to the studios of Cinema, before we get to the winding road through the High Atlas again, back to where it all started: to the crazy Medina of Marrakech !!
